The man responsible for the attack was on bail for previously kidnapping and assaulting Christie and had been released on bail 32 days before he killed her. Prosecuting, Mr Tim Raggatt QC told the court that all three murders were carried out by Mr Smith. Because Lynott had worked alongside Smith at the Rainbow, West Midlands Police wished to re-examine the cause of her death.
